The best thing that can happen when you realise you’ve lost your focus or fall off the wagon, is that you notice that it’s happened. Similar to when your attention drifts when meditating. This then gives you a chance to work towards putting things back on track.
Traditionally, December is a busy month for socialising, work finishing up for the year and eating like a pig. It can be frustrating realising that you aren’t as on it as you first thought but is it better to be living in ignorance or aware of what you’re in control of?
When this happens, direct your focus back to the task at hand and do what you need to do to get back on track. If it’s straying from a diet, don’t dwell on what you’ve eaten but get back on sticking to it. At any point in time, you’re in control of your direction.
