…so I’ll keep this short.
One of life’s most overly used (yet least adhered to) statements is “Life is short.” Time is what we want most but value least. People complain about never having enough of it yet use the time they have inefficiently.
Regardless of how you choose to spend your time, it’s valuable to you. Stop letting others disrespect this.
If you want to spend your time on youtube, that’s entirely up to you. If that’s going to help you get to where you want to be, then don’t feel guilted into staying at a party because that’s what you feel is what you should do. Respect your own time and in turn, others will too.
Every time you show up late, cancel last minute or keep talking after someones said they need to go, you’re indirectly saying “I don’t respect your time and my time is more valuable that yours” In the same way that if you’re on a diet or abstaining from alcohol and someone tries to persuade you to indulge, it’s disrespecting your decisions.
Time is an obstacle we need to navigate. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you don’t have enough time. You have plenty of time but you have to use it consciously.
